Biography
From a very young age I wanted to experience all that life has for me. Everything
from my family to nature to school inspired me and motivated me to ask deeper
questions. These deeper questions led me to find out that all our happiness and
success is within us, we just have to discover it and surrender to it unconditionally
and proactively. This can be easily said, but not always easily done, we are such
complicated creatures and happiness alludes us as we chase it!
As I grew I wanted to experience even deeper love and passion and joy. First I
worked with the poor but eventually this desire led me to join a group of Carmelite
monastic nuns (of the catholic tradition). We lived in North Dakota, eating primarily
what we grew ourselves, spending hours in meditation and learning about
ourselves, about Spirit and about living in harmony with the world. You would be
very surprised at what you learn about yourself when silence, without distraction, is
all you have!
From 1997-2001 I became the general contractor of a huge project of building a
new monastery in Texas. During this experience, hundreds of great people drew
together to give of their time and resources...as more and more shared their stories
with me it became clear that the time had come to work with others, to be some
kind of instrument and companion that they could find deep happiness as well.
I left in June of 2001. Gratefully awarded a scholarship, I continued my formation at
the Washington Theological Union in Wash. D.C. I also served as chaplain at
Georgetown University during that time. Upon graduating in 200,4 I began active
ministry at Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Here I led conferences, programs, and
workshops. I worked with the community in developing othe vision (we are
relatively new,) of ongoing growth in spirit. I was quite blessed to work with two
great priests, Leo McCarthy, O.Carm. and Lukas Schmidt, O. Carm. and many other
committed persons. I resigned to begin my new company in July of 2007.
In addition I practice daily meditation, exercise, eat healthily, explore music and
love to dance. These facilitate my service as Reiki practitioner and spiritual
director... We are all meant to be healers in this world, to create a place of great
love and harmony- and I am grateful to be a part of that universal calling!
